Kose Addiction: Out of Africa + Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill #8

I like to think that I have generally good 'auction' skills in that I am patient and persistent enough to endlessly comb online websites to find what I want at a hopefully cheaper price - this is how I've acquired a lot of my KAT-TUN and V6 collections, Tokidoki bags, and more recently, my ADDICTION collection!

Given how exclusive ADDICTION by Ayako is, and how expensive it is on online shops, I often haunt Rakuten and Yahoo!JP to find and bid on auctions, biting my nails all the while, until I've either won or lost the auction. This post is focused on one of my biggest successes: 2 shadows from the Out of Africa collection that came out this past spring :)

As best as my dear Yasumi and I can figure (my palette came with no labels), my lucky find has the following:
- Cigarette (P) Eyeshadow
- Safari Mode (P) Eyeshadow
- Mystic Mirage (P) Eyeshadow
- Arabian Ruby (ME) Eyeshadow
- Rose Bar Blush

I'm still in the process of playing with all of my SF purchases so of course I tried these over my new favourite product, the Armani Eyes to Kill Silk Eyeshadows :)

Try #1 was pink, of course :)

Products used:
Face: Armani Face Fabric #3, Armani Luminous Silk Powder 5.5
Cheeks: ADDICTION Rose Bar Powder Blush
Eyes: UDPP, Armani Eyes to Kill #7, ADDICTION Mystic Mirage, Arabian Ruby, Cigarette, K-Palette Eyeliner, Diorshow Blackout
Lips: BITE Lipstick in Bouquet (this is obviously my lippie-of-the-week)

Next up was trying to figure out the Khaki brown of Safari Mode :)

Face: Armani Face Fabric #3, Armani Luminous Silk Powder 5.5
Cheeks: ADDICTION Rose Bar Powder Blush over Armani Blushing Fabric #1
Eyes: UDPP, Armani Eyes to Kill #8, ADDICTION Safari Mode, Arabian Beauty, Cigarette, K-Palette Eyeliner, Diorshow Blackout
Lips: BITE Lipstick in Bouquet

And still playing around with camera settings, but some swatches:

Left to Right:
Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Silk #8, ADDICTION Cigarette, Safari Mode, Mystic Mirage, Arabian Ruby

Do let me know what you think? I'm still in love with BOTH of these brands and cannot wait to expand my collection of them :)

  1. Oh, that's a really good idea (to buy from those cheaper auction sites)! ichibankao.com is pretty much the only place to buy Addiction other than the auction sites and it's so jacked up in price, plus the exchange rate with the dollar is horrible right now. Do you think it would be possible to use those auction sites without knowing how to read Japanese?

  2. @Anonymous Google translate is my friend, but you'll need to use a deputy service to bid on the auctions unless you live in Japan!

  4. Addiction is getting so much attention in Japan right now, aren't they? I love their colours. Just out of curiosity, how do you think it compares with NARS?

  5. @Yumeko

    Thanks, babe!!

    @Astrorainfall

Based on what I've tried so far I'd say the quality is about the same, with an edge to ADDICTION for their eyeshadow quality. I haven't tried a lot of their other items, unfortunately!
